I purchased two, had no problem hanging on the wall. I use them
for my cats who run up and down these shelves daily for the last 6 months with no hint of looseless or tilting. Both cats will sit on the shelves at the same time, still no problem. Love these shelves They are hung in drywall

We bought three of these to put in the family room and liked them so much we bought three more for our kitchen. We are using them to display some of my husband's extensive lunch box collection. Lunch boxes are pretty light but given the hardware that comes with the shelf I would guess they could support quite a bit of weight (e.g. books). We did have to exchange one shelf because the box must have been dropped and a corner was slightly crushed, but the store was great about it. Luckily my husband is quite handy, so they went up pretty easily.

by Monchi Pleasantly Surprised by the Quality
I ordered 3 shelves online to do an offset shelf system in my home office. The store pick up was efficient and friendly. The items were in good condition. I was pleasantly surprised that these shelves were better looking in person considering they're MDF with wood veneer. I had a handyman friend install them for me and it went well. My only recommendation for improvement is to make the paper template for hole placement out of higher quality. Even with painters tape, the templates easily tore as we moved them trying to determine perfect placement.

These shelves do not work at all on drywall. I have several other floating shelves that are perfectly fine on drywall, but these ones pull down and droop badly. They make me nervous, and they are unsightly. Very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by julio Does not work with drywall
This shelf does not work as advertised on drywall. The instructions are skimpy and hard to follow. The wall itself droops when even the smallest thing is on it, and pulls the support out of the wall. Would not recommend at all if you have drywall.

The Mantel shelf is simple to install, however it tends to droop forward on a drywall installation, leaving me nervous about putting anywhere close to the 33 pound allowable weight on it. The shelf doesn't look good on a real install, I recommend skipping it if you are panning to install on anything other than wood. Drywall and Concrete are a big NO.

by Marlena Beautiful shelves but don't work as advertised.
Installed the shelves about a year ago in a bathroom in dry wall. Followed the directions, had a professional install, and did not put heavy items on it. The top shelf only has two towels on it and is pulling out of the wall. Not sure if you can see it in the photo I uploaded but its noticeable in person.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Jkrz So disappointing
The quality of the shelf was not up to the Container Store's usual standard. The construction is flimsy. The hardware is cheap. The design for attaching the shelf to the wall did not allow for a sturdy install. However, as long as I don't have a problem with the return, I might still try a different product. (I've been happy with other products)

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Dathur Good shelves cheap hardware
We bought these shelves last year. They came with elfa screws and anchors. Just bought another shelf recently, the screws were so cheap. They stripped even by hand. It made getting the shelf up a lot harder. Please go back to the elfa hardware.
