Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 306 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simple, functional design I just bought a second one of these pet food containers. The first one I use outdoors for bird seed and the other is in my pantry for dog food. They are airtight, so no bugs or moisture get in and no smells get out. The wheels function smoothly and the sheer plastic makes it easy to see at a glance if it's time to restock. June 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Dog Food Bin This is the best dog food bin I've used or come across! Best in terms of: amount of food it holds, mobility with the wheels, aesthetics, ease of opening and closing, and the price! I've had mine for a year and it is in fantastic condition. 5 stars. April 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by For More Than Pet Food I bought this product to store my flour and sugar. I do a ton of baking and these containers have made it easier to store my ingredients. The containers ensure my ingredients stay fresh and inaccessible to rodents, bugs, and my dogs. They also are easily moved throughout the kitchen. It's wonderful! April 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Pet Food Storage option After several years of storing our large dog food bags in a tote that did not have wheels we upgraded. The wheels make moving the larger container a breeze. The sealing lid helps keep the food fresh longer. And, the whole bag fits inside, so the food isn't exposed to plastic. Wish we would have made the change long ago. July 20, 2016

Answer:
It is close to being airtight. The longer you use it the less airtight it is. That being written, I still store food in them and the food is still fine week after week.

We've had these same containers for quite some time and have never had an issue with moisture getting inside, even when we lived in a humid climate.

Answer:
It does have a small gasket but I do not consider it airtight the way that the lid closes. I store dog food in the container but keep it in the original bag and ensure the bag itself is firmly closed.

We need an airtight and cockroach proof container to hold popcorn kernels for our elementary school PTO fundraiser. We store kernels year-round for "Popcorn Fridays" and we live in Florida - cockroach capital. The casters are perfect so we can easily move the containers from the storage area to the vending area.

Answer:
The large container will probably hold most, if not all, of a 50 lb bag of popcorn kernels. We have the 22 lb containers that hold our rice, flour and sugar and we buy the 25 lb bags, which all fits inside. Also, we've lived in a humid climate for a few years and never once had a problem with moisture or any kind of bugs getting inside the containers.

Answer:
The Pet Food Containers are not airtight, so we cannot recommend them for your particular needs. You may want to try our Dry Food Vault. It is an airtight container that can hold from 45-50 lbs of food. Please reference the Product Recommendations below for additional details. Unfortunately it is not on casters.

We put a 35 lb sack of dogfood in the large one and a 25 lb sack of birdseed in the smaller one. The smaller one also holds a 20 lb sack of charcoal (still in the bag).

Answer:
Yes, you can take them off and put them back on as much as you want. We've moved cross-country twice since owning these and took the wheels off to effectively stack them for the move and then put them back on again later.

Answer:
I don't know specifically about dog food, but it does hold 25 lb bags of rice, flour and sugar (as that's what we use it for), so I'm guessing that the 22 lbs is referring to dry dog food weight.

Outside storage?

I want something I can store birdseed in on my deck. Super hot out there in the summer. I'm wondering if there will be a problem with moisture collecting inside the container and if there is a better choice for a container.

I store birdseed in these containers. Containers are stored on a covered porch so not in the direct sun, but it still can reach 90 degrees or more on the porch. Never had any problems with moisture.

Answer:
We do not recommend exposing this product directly to the elements, but you may place it in a garage, or on a porch. The product does feature airtight closures, which should help with the moisture concern. It is also constructed from polypropylene, which is a very sturdy plastic material.

Answer:
We only use ours indoors, but we store rice, flour and sugar in them (and have for years in the same containers). We've never had an ounce of moisture in them and this includes when we lived in the humid Midwest. As long as you keep it out of the elements as much as possible (such as keeping them under an awning or overhang), you'll be fine.

These container are not bug-proof. You may want to look into our Click Clack Solutions, or you may want to look into our No-Moth solutions. Our Click Clacks are air tight, and our No-Moth kills moths with little to no odor. Please refer to our Product Recommendations for additional details.

Mine have held 50 lbs but that is pushing it. The wheels are not made for that much weight and the plastic mold where the wheels attach stretch and break with too much weight and movement of the bin.
