Our wondrously clear Rectangular Snapware Containers hold kitchen staples like flour, sugar, rice, coffee, or tea beautifully on the counter or in the pantry. Made of shatter-proof, Flexiglass plastic, these containers won't stain or absorb odors. They're refrigerator and freezer safe and are recommended for dry food storage only. The lid is the outstanding feature of a Snapware Container. It's easy to open, has a wide circumference to accommodate scoops, locks in the open position for accident-free pouring, and has an airtight silicone seal to preserve food freshness and flavor. In fact, the lid has a patented design that seals around the silicone gasket from above and below to prevent any transfer of air or moisture, either in or out of the canister. The result is a seal so complete, potato chips left in a Snapware Container for an entire year were as fresh as when they were first opened!

Rated 5 out of 5 by I'm not bugged. Regardless of the brand of food storage container used in the long ago past or currently (Snapware) I have never EVER stored any food directly in the container. If it's possible, I use the bag it comes in, but only if it's water resistant. Flour and sugar I pour directly into a zipper bag, which then goes into the container. Basically any food product goes first into the zipper bag and then in the container. I'm very phobic about any kind of creepycrawly and though it may be a little bit more work initially, this really works for me. The zipper makes a relatively airtight seal and then the latch on the container is a double protection. Although this may seem counter-intuitive, it gives me peace of mind. To date, there have been no issues. I really like the Snapware although a couple of mine were "deformed" in the dishwasher (wrong rack). Still they're quite usable although a little weird looking and a bit off balance, but until we get new ones, they work very well. I love the square because they take up less room than round. I've had these for years already and they've never cracked or split but like anything else, care has to be taken. Now I know NOT to put them in the bottom rack. Terrific product and reasonably priced. March 11, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lids are a pain Surprised no one else mentions. Hard to properly get gaskets into track. Hard to secure lids so they don't pull right off. Not sure if seal is effective as I've found bugs in pancake mix after a couple of weeks. I use chalkboard labels which look sharp and hold up for bwashing. September 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Useful canister I bought this to hold four pounds of sugar, which it does very nicely. The top opening is good for scooping out the contents. The catch is a bit odd, but it seems to be working. July 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by WARNING ON SIZE!!! I love these Snapware canisters. I had a couple at my last apartment and was looking forward to buying several more to have a complete matching set for all my baking flours and sugars at my new home. HOWEVER, I was very disappointed upon arriving home with my lovely new canisters only to find that they did not fit in my cabinets! My kitchen cabinets have fixed shelves a little over 8" apart. I usually find the Container Store's measurements to be quite accurate, however not so in this case. The medium size (11.1 cup/2.6 L) of these canisters is NOT 8" high as stated. They are actually between 8.25" & 8.5" in height once you account for the domed lids. Such a disappointment as 8" would have been a perfect fit! (just a small gap between canister and shelf to allow for easy movement -- but alas! I couldn't get them onto our shelves at all) :/ They are still great canisters though, so I'm just knocking one star off for inaccurate measurements in the item description because otherwise they would have been perfect. Ah well! June 9, 2014

Container Stories
Inspired Spaces

You remember it. I remember it. And our kids are going to remember it: the college dorm room. And while some things change - my beloved Sting poster that was on my wall is now replaced by what? Maybe a lovely piece of art or montage of fun photos of friends and memories? Some things never change when it comes to dorm rooms - it's probably the smallest space you'll ever reside.
