Rated 4 out of 5Â by Librin How I Assembled It
Despite all the reviews saying how hard it is to figure out -- and it is -- there are still no instructions here. Here's what I did:
1. I opened out all the flaps, top and bottom, and stood it on the floor upside down.
2. I tugged at the sides until I could get the flat insert piece inside and level. This holds the shape while you assemble the rest.
3. Fold the four little flaps in first. Fold the two big flaps next. This is the same for the bottom and the top.
4. The last flaps are the ones on the same panel as the two push-in handle slots. After pushing these in on the bottom, turn the box over, and press the inner flat piece firmly against the inside of the assembled bottom flaps.
I taped the bottom outside for extra security. I filled the box with heirloom China plates, using bubble wrap and "green" packing material on a roll (also from C Store.) The filled box isn't too heavy, feels secure, and is a very manageable size. Better directions (or any) would earn that fifth star.

I strongly agree that the box needs instructions printed on the box or enclosed with it. Took me quite a while to figure it out, and it wasn't something I wanted to spend time on while packing up an entire home. That said, I used it to hold my favorite and hard to find china pattern. It held 8 dinner plates and 8 salad plates plus 5 small coffee cups. However, when I was finished I found I had used the box upside down! And, no, I didn't redo it. I had to return to the store after I bought it and looked at how they folded it and they had it all wrong too!

I have used this item in the past for dishes and carried them from house to house...Really packs securely and holds up to moves!

This serves the purpose it was intended for. It did take a moment to figure out the assembly. It would have been nice if that information was written on the side of the box.
Also, the plates I put in this box, which were cheap holiday plates from the dollar store, barely fit. If I needed additional storage for dishes, not sure that I would purchase this again.

I have used these drums many times before, but this time the dinner plates I was planning to store did not fit. These were Franciscan Malibu plates and now I have to find something else.

I loved using this packing box as we moved from coast to coast without breaking one dish....oh so perfect when your china needs the ultimate protection. Thank you for making my life easier.

A little challenging to put together at first and to make sure the dishes fit in correctly, but very handy! It's of course heavy once many dishes fit in, so we don't use the handles for transporting, but that's because it holds a lot of dishes. :)

Rated 1 out of 5Â by ClutterfreeDC Buy a box
Two of us with multiple degrees could not put this together. And even if we had, it's pretty flimsy. Buy a box, bubble paper, and put something like a papertowel between the plates instead of this.
