I love the size/shape of these for accommodating the DVD artwork. Wish there were expanded folder options for TV collections that contain 4-8 DVDs, but for now these work for the majority of my movies. I used the tall shoe box someone else recommended and it does the job nicely. I think I may be technically using them backwards as I have the disc opening at the top when the folder is opened and do not have any sliding out as someone else complained. My issue is that these are cost prohibitive for an extensive collection (that would benefit from this the most).

I have a massive collection of Blu Rays and DVDs. After spending years trying to keep them in their original cases, I eventually realized - I'm never selling these, so I don't NEED to keep them in their original cases.
I am a "collector" in the worst sense of the word.
Prior to the Disc Sox, the only real option for DVDs was to put them in thin pack cases - which required the cover artwork to be trimmed. I could NEVER do that, but if there was a solution that would allow me to keep the cover art intact, and saved as much space, I'd have been on it.
That's when about 2-3 years ago I learned about these pro sleeves. I bought 2 packs, and after now investing in at least 30 packs of these things, and 10 packs of the Blu Ray sleeves (and 5 packs of CD sleeves), I would say I am a true believer.
My only real complaint is that these are not rigid like a normal case. You either need to fill an entire shelf with these, buy the display options for them, or use book ends to keep them from sagging on the shelf. I opt for using the entire shelf and using other DVD/BD special boxes as my bookends until I fill the shelf. The cases on their own are expensive, add on the storage options to it and the price will easily be 1/3 more overall.
For someone who suffers from the Collector's Affliction, don't bother with these. If you absolutely must keep everything original, you will never be happy with these. I had that problem for years. The option was to sell off some of my collection, or make space. I chose to make space. And thankfully, with the way these are designed, while they may not go back into their original plastic case, I can easily return them to a plastic case without damage. But not everyone can get there, and if you know you can't, then don't spend money on these.

I loved this when I first saw at my local Container Store. Moved my almost 300 DVDs out of their thick, ugly plastic cases into these. Cost a lot of money (too much!), but was pleased with reduction in space. Except.....
...When I realized that DVDs easily fall out of the sleeves. Initially I had the sleeves in these large beautiful high-quality thick acrylic boxes, perfectly sized for the DVDs. I had the sleeves facing down in a way that the spines where up - so I could flip through reading the spines (not perfect since they're flat, but worked somewhat). Very quickly I came to realize the DVDs were falling out into the box.
Annoying, but I rearranged so that they were not facing down to allow the DVDs to slip out. Only problem is that the DVDs *still* slip out all the time. the inner sleeve is a soft -- and because there's no flap -- the discs generally just easily slide out.
I'm now in the process of going back to plastic cases -- just the Slim ones, which are sturdy but 1/2 the space of regular.
