Read reviews first/follow instructions/will be fab
I bought this shelf as an impulse buy during their shelving sale without reading reviews. Boyfriend installed for me, who is VERY HANDY, cursed up a storm about hardware included. We happened to already have 75 lb drywall anchors, and went to store to buy new Flathead screws. Buy flathead ones, or shelf won't slide in. Installed bracket and realized we didn't have space to slide it in. Boyfriend thought long and hard about it, and next night installed at an angle, and only used two end screws and top screw with small allen wrench in box. He says now you couId swing off of it! t is beautiful, does not tilt, and put several glass pieces on it, and a light underneath it to highlight the glass pieces on it. Only costs a little extra to invest in your own heavy duty hardware. I have bought other items off of another site that didn't even Come with any hardware anyways! Makes our wall look absolutely beautiful!

Disappointed
The shelf tilts, even with nothing on it. The screws are installed as tight as they can be. Installation was great--comes with template but something is not right with the design. We returned it.

Not happy
Where to begin...the acyclic cracked. Before I put these on my wall I placed decorative items on the shelf just to decide placement. I left the items on the shelf overnight because I wanted my husband to install them in the wall. The next morning I noticed the acrylic cracked in places were items where set. I didn't put heavy items on the shelf, one items less 11 oz, 2 other items about a 1 lb each. I was going to forgive that and I figured no one would see it as long as I kept the objects on the shelf. But there was another problem, the hardware it came with was terrible. Anchors would not hold onto dry wall, screws so cheap that they stripped easily. Once set into the wall the shelves just kept tilting. Had to bring them back to the store. Got my money back but now I have 3 holes on my wall that I need to patch up and then find the paint the matches my wall. Ugh so upset!
In the same room I have a mirror and rods heavier than shelves, so I find it weird that these didn't hold up. I'm guessing it's the hardware so if you want these because aesthetic reasons be sure you don't use the hardware it comes with.

Installation big problem
Bought 4 of these shelves because of their appearance. Liked the idea that they were almost invisible & would therefore highlight only the objects placed on the shelf. Have unsuccessfully tried to install one shelf. The hardware included is not good. However even with upgrading the hardware, the shelf tilts down & am afraid to put anything on it for fear of it sliding off. Shelf will not work if installed on Sheetrock.

Disappointing to say the least.
I was really looking forward to installing and using 2 Umbra shelves, as I really like the design and the way they look. Unfortunately, in spite of carefully attempting to follow the instructions, the installation was completely unsuccessful. I measured and marked the placement of the screws and even drilled small pilot holes to ensure proper, precise spacing and an easier installation of the screw anchors. In spite of this, one of the 3 plastic screw anchors broke off as I was screwing it in with a phillips screwdriver - as directed. This was annoying, but not a disaster, because I felt that enough of it was still in the drywall to anchor the screw. I then placed the bracket and began screwing in the 3 mounting screws. When the first screw was about 2/3 of the way in IT BROKE OFF. Really annoyed now, I removed all three screws - which meant the plastic anchors also came out and were unusable - and began to search my toolkit for a screw I could use in place of the broken one and some replacement plastic anchors. I found some, but before attempting to try the installation again, I remembered that the directions caution the installer to be sure that the screw heads were all the way in and flush with the bracket before adding the shelf. So, I wanted to make sure that my replacement screw would fit and be flush per the directions. When it seemed a bit questionable whether my replacement screw would be flush, I decided to check the 2 original screws so that I could see what a "flush" installation looked like. What I discovered was that neither of them would fit "flush" within the bracket either, and when I attempted to slide the shelf into the bracket with the screws in as flush as they would fit, the bracket got snagged on the first screw head and would not slide into position. That did it for me. I stopped, and wrapped up the shelf, bracket, broken screws and anchors and am returning both shelves - I didn't even bother to open the 2nd shelf package - after I patch the holes in my wall. Big disappointment, and a lot of wasted time.

Great Shelf - Classy and Functional
As far as shelves go, this is a great one. It strikes me as both functional (due to size and strength) and classy. As other reviews have mentioned, you have to have enough space on either side of the mounted shelf to be able to slide the glass shelf portion into the mounting bar, as the glass as to be flat against the wall the entire way). This isn't always possible, so it may not work in every scenario, but that doesn't take away from how much I love this shelf. In fact, it was the perfect size for two walls under my kitchen cabinet, and exactly the right look; however, there was a 1/4" thick piece of trim that would have kept me from sliding the glass in. So I simply cut a section of the trim out, so that I could install the shelf. That may seem a bit extreme, but I'm going to replace that piece of removed trim with a piece of marble that will match my new kitchen counter. What appeared to be an obstacle ended up being an opportunity (that I never would have otherwise thought of) to add in a great design element! So yes, this shelf may not work everywhere, but if you can find a way to make it work, it's a great shelf!

Beautiful Shelves
These shelves are beautiful but they certainly weren't easy to install. You must have open space next to the shelves to mount them or get super creative by tilting the mount to slide in the shelves. They look pretty, especially when you hang several, but they are a little pricey.

The right solution
This shelf is pricey but is a perfect solution for someone who needs an unobtrusive and elegant shelf for small items.

pretty good, esp. if on sale
We purchased these for our bathroom and found installation easy. They stayed tightly adhered to the wall and although their slide-in, slide-out design left us anxious that they wouldn't be sturdy, over the year, we actually never had problems with them. We wish they cost less, but they also fit our need to a T.

Returning shelf to the store :(
I just installed it in my bathroom. Unfortunately, it slants downward even though the bracket is securely tightened to the wall. I haven't put anything on the shelf for fear of the stuff sliding off. I have no choice but to return the shelf to the store. I really wanted it to work out because I love its simplicity.

Invisible shelfs, illusion of floating in air
One thing that some like is an illusion of not there. A clean clear shelf fits this well as well as being a way to see the underside of things.

Mounting Problems
I ordered two of these but had to send them back. Problem was I need to put some additional shelves inside a cabinet. For these shelves you screw the mount to the wall and then slide the shelf into the mount parallel to the wall. Impossible without free space next to the mount. I needed a mount where I could slide the shelf in perpendicular to the wall.
Other than my mounting problem they looked to be well made and were good looking.
