Silver Round Tins
Bought this to fill with cookies to give to a friend. Lid fits tightly but still easy to remove. Solid construction - I would imagine (without having tested it) that it is waterproof. Only caveat: we used it for thin maple wafers and the container can fit A LOT of wafer thin cookies, so either prepare a big batch or line with parchment paper before you fill it.

Love these containers!
I was shipping some cookies to a friend and these containers were PERFECT! They definitely offer a nice presentation of your wares, and are priced right. I highly recommend them!

I love using these tins for sharing cookies. I decorate the tops with sparkly decals to "celebrate" the occasion. The tins are durable and keep bake goods crisp and fresh. They come in assorted sizes.

Best Cookie Tins
These are always my go-to for gifting cookies year round. They are a perfect fit for my annual Pizelle giving during the holidays. Recipients love the cookies, but also love having the container to use afterwards. Some even return it hoping to get a refill.

Great for gift without holiday theme
Only reliable source for non-Christmas tins for cookie gifts, and cost is reasonable. I use with food-rated wax paper (one choice is http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10018313&N=&Ntt=food+paper) and a ribbon for a nice-looking gift that keeps cookies fresh, can be frozen, and don't want back.
