How can I order by phone?
We are available to take your call Monday through Saturday, 8 AM – 8 PM and Sunday, 9 AM – 7 PM Central Time. Please don't hesitate to call us with any questions at 1-888-CONTAIN (266-8246).

Can I order by fax?
Yes! Simply print a copy of your Shopping Cart and fax it to us with a cover sheet. The cover sheet must include:

  • Your name
  • Your billing address
  • The ship To address and recipient name
  • Your phone number (we must call you to confirm your order and to obtain payment details)
  • Your email address
  • Please do not include any credit card information on the cover sheet
  • Fax the cover sheet and Shopping Cart print out to 1-800-786-5858. We will call you at the number you provide to confirm the order and to give you an exact total (including applicable taxes and shipping charges.) We will obtain your credit card payme nt information by phone. You may also choose to mail your payment in the form of a check – we can provide those details when we speak with you on the phone.

    How can I check the status of my order?

    How do I cancel an order?

    What credit cards does The Container Store accept?

    I can't find a product I saw in your store. Can I order merchandise online that I saw at The Container Store?
    Our Web site features a select grouping of the items we carry in our stores. For questions, or to order products that are not featured on this site, please call us at 1-888-CONTAIN (266-8246) or call the store nearest you.

    Shipping Information

    • We only ship within the continental United States.
    • For an additional charge, we ship to Alaska and Hawaii.
    • We cannot ship to APO or FPO Boxes.
    • We cannot ship to U.S. Territories.

    What are your shipping charges?

     Standard Shipping

    Shipping charges are based on the regular retail price of all items before tax. You should expect delivery in 5-10 business days from the order date.

     Expedited Shipping
    $30.00 or 35% (whichever is greater) on the regular retail price of all items before tax. For orders placed by 8 pm Central time Monday-Saturday and 6 pm Sunday, in-stock items ship the next business day via expedited shipping service. Items should arrive 4 business days from the order date. For orders placed after 8 pm Central time or after 6 pm on Sunday or on a holiday, please allow 1 additional business day. Sorry, expedited shipping is not offered to Alaska or Hawaii nor is it available for elfa, Skandia, InterMetro, Metro Commercial, and free-standing Shelving Orders.

    $30.00 or 35% (whichever is greater) of the regular retail price of all items before tax. Expect delivery in 5-10 business days from the order date.
     Hawaii
    $30.00 or 35% ( whichever is greater) of the regular retail price of all items before tax. Expect delivery in 5-10 business days from the order date.
    • Some orders may require additional shipping charges. If this is the case, we will contact you before any shipment is made, or any charges are added to your credit card.
    • Heavy, large or bulky items are subject to additional shipping fees. These additional shipping fees are noted on that item's product page and are also shown in your Shopping Cart.
    • All appropriate local and state sales taxes will be added to your shipping charges where applicable.

    APO / FPO
    At The Container Store, we are committed to offering excellent products and astonishing customer service. That's why it's so important to us that your products arrive safely. We have tried unsuccessfully to offer APO/FPO shipping. However, the extra handling involved led to an extremely high percentage of lost and damaged items. This made many customers unhappy and frustrated. This service was not acceptable to our customers, nor was it acceptable to us. This is why we no longer ship to APO and FPO addresses, but we continue to look for viable alternatives that will allow us to ship items directly to those who are protecting our country overseas.

    If there is another stateside address to which you would like us to ship, please let us know and we will be happy to process your order. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    We are pleased to offer delivery service in select stores: Manhattan, White Plains, NY, Paramus, NJ, downtown Chicago and Washington, D.C. Please find specific delivery information for each market below.

    **Please note that our Web site is only able to process deliveries from our Manhattan stores and delivery pricing online will follow the delivery fees from our Manhattan stores only. To schedule a delivery from a store other than Manhattan, please contact the store directly or call 1-888-CONTAIN (266-8246).

    Terms
    • Same-day, 4-hour window delivery available Monday-Saturday.
    • Because our store is closed on Sunday, we cannot offer same-day deliveries on Sunday. However, deliveries can be scheduled (with at least a day’s notice) for Sundays.
    • For Sunday deliveries, your order must be placed by 2:00 PM on the Saturday prior.
    • Orders placed after 2:00 PM will be delivered on the following Monday or later.
    • Someone must be available to accept and sign for the delivery.
    • If multiple deliveries are necessary, more than one delivery fee will apply.

    Can I purchase stock in The Container Store? How do I get a copy of your annual report?
    We are currently a privately held corporation and do not offer stock to the public, or release our financial information.

    Return Policy   (top)

    What is your Return Policy?

    We will be happy to issue a refund for returned merchandise when accompanied by your original receipt. Returns without a receipt will receive a merchandise credit and will require your name, address, phone number and a valid photo ID. The merchandise credit price of the returned products will be at the lowest retail price within the last 90 days (stores and online).

    Returns may be made at any store. There are no shipping or restocking fees if you make an in-store return. For Click & Pickup orders, your email confirmation serves as your receipt.

    Returns may also be shipped to 500 Freeport Parkway, Suite 100, Coppell, Texas 75019 (shipping fees apply).
